A Snapshot of Cornita A. Riley
Cornita A. Riley is a 39-year veteran in the field of Corrections. In 2018, she retired as Chief of Orange County Corrections, the fifth largest jail system in the State of Florida and in the top 20 largest systems in the nation. She served as Chief from 2013 to 2018 and Deputy Chief from 2003 to 2013. Prior to joining the Orange County team, Mrs. Riley served in numerous leadership roles; lastly as Regional Assistant Warden for the Florida Department of Corrections, Region 3.
Mrs. Riley is the founder and CEO of Motivating People to Rise Higher Consulting Firm; a consultant for The Moss Group; an expert witness in court (and other) proceedings, and an adjunct instructor for Valencia College School of Public Safety. Ms. Riley’s personal commitment is to deliver valuable leadership training for criminal justice professionals with a passion towards developing women in Corrections.
